Puerto Vallarta sunset from ocean-view condo SC-11 above Los Muertos beach Puerto Vallarta is renowned for its dazzling and gorgeous sunsets, cobblestone streets, red tile roofs, famed long stretches of wide sandy beaches, and a great variety of fun tourist attractions and things to do in town, on the Bay, and in the Sierra Madre mountains which surround and protect our tropical resort area. Flags Bay/Banderas Bay, the largest natural bay in the Republic of Mexico and one of the 10 largest in the world with a coastline of approximately 42 miles or 68 kilometers, also has attractive beaches on both the south and north shores. The municipality of Puerto Vallarta is centered in the middle of the horse-shoe shaped bay opening to the Pacific ocean on the west. The best beaches are actually located from Conchas Chinas heading north. The South Shore landscape along the waterfront tends to be rockier but, regardless, the panoramic sunsets from any location in the region are inviting and many of the pictures now world-famous. Our tropical paradise with its extremely deep bay is also an important birthing and breeding habitat for humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) which congregate here from November until March each year. Below you can find a large selection of Puerto Vallarta sunset photos, many of them taken from the condo and villa vacation rental properties which I represent, most of which are located in Old Town (the South Side Romantic zone), Alta Vista or Conchas Chinas.
