The first part of the parade up to the South Side is G-rated, with not even a suggestion of sexuality, but after crossing the Cuale River into the Romantic Zone supposedly all rules are off and anything goes. See photos from past Puerto Vallarta Gay Carnival festivities in February 2010 and 2012 and March 2011, when it was more organized and run by the gay and artistic communities before being largely taken over by the government, though this year promises to be grander and more diverse than 2014.
